The Great Gatsby

Have you seen trailers for The Great Gatsby? I can't wait. It's no secret that I love Leo, but I also love Baz Luhrmann, who directed one of my favorite movies, Moulin Rouge. The cinematography for this looks so unbelievable, with the vibrant colors and beautiful 1920's attire, it's stunning already and I haven't even seen it yet.





A few friends commented that they didn't like the book and Zac said he doesn't want to see the movie with me either. But I remember enjoying the book when I read it in high school. I think the friends who don't want to see it have difficulty finding interest in 'rich people problems'. But I think it's about more than that. I don't remember everything about the Great Jay Gatsby, but I think the book was like a character study. And I do like a good character study. I might even have to go find an old copy and give it a read before I go see it.

Drybar

Have you ever heard of Drybar? I went today with my best friend Kimmy and we got our hair blown out. She got me the blowout as a 'thank you' for helping throw her baby shower, and I got her the blow out as a birthday present. What a fabulous gift exchange!





The place specializes in blowouts only, no cuts or color. The atmosphere is great and they serve alcohol! Although my hair doesn't seem to hold the curl for very long, it was certainly a nice treat. I feel glamorous with my curls, and their product makes your hair smell awesome. I'd recommend trying it out if you've ever got a special occasion to dress up for. Kim and I were not only celebrating her birthday, but wanted to get our hair done before we get both of ours cut dramatically tomorrow! Stay tuned..

Do you pamper yourself?

I have a membership at Massage Envy. When I was pregnant, my friend Kimmy got me a prenatal massage as a birthday present. It was amazing. So I was in a state of bliss when the front desk associate asked if I'd like to become a member. In my euphoric state, I quickly justified my 'yes please' by the thought of being a new mom and deserving some "me" time every month.

I don't regret it one bit. Everyone needs a good pampering every now and then (or every month). So, what do you do to take care of yourself? Long baths, nails done, exercise?

Must love dogs.

I don't have that many photos of Brewster and James yet, but had to include one here. If you love dogs and babies, you must check out this sweet link of dogs doing anything for their little buddies. Brewster gives James kisses and James just started petting Brew (with a little help from mom) with such innocent curiosity and interest. I think these two are going to be great friends.

Thought I'd leave something pretty for you on this late Tuesday night. Why does everyone love Ryan anyway? I think it's a mixture of his confidence, humor, and rugged good looks. What do you think?

30 Day Squat Challenge

When I was pregnant, I would try and do as many squats as I could muster while hanging out at home. It was an easy exercise to do throughout the day, and was supposed to help with labor. But since having baby James, I haven't been as into them. So, I started this the other day! Someone shared it on Facebook, from Khloe Kardashian, and this quote from her has to be my favorite of the day: "Your booty is a muscle! Work it right and get it tight!"

Have you seen this unbelievable moment captured at the Museum of Modern Art when the artist, Marina Abramovic, whose piece centered around sharing gazes with strangers, opened her eyes to a lost love from the 70s. The story goes that when they realized the relationship wasn't working, they walked the Great Wall of China, from opposite ends, to meet in the middle, for one last embrace before never seeing one another again. Until this moment. Wow. How powerful.
